Believing in the power of change

After a rewarding career in the corporate world, I went back to university to study counselling.

I found a counselling course that seemed to be aligned with what I had experienced as a client.

I chose this profession because I believe that with the right kind of support, change can happen.

Integrative Therapist

I  describe myself as an integrative therapist, drawing on different modalities depending on the client needs.  These modalities include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Attachment based therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT)

  • Humanistic Therapy

  • An understanding of internal family systems therapy and transactional analysis therapy

In my experience, the above approach can assist clients with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, addiction, grief and loss, self esteem and self worth doubt, workplace challenges, and life changes.

My aim is to make my role in my client’s life, redundant.  What I mean by that is helping clients to live in a way that works for them with tools and strategies that will sustain and enhance their lives.

I have also completed Crisis Incident Stress Management: Group Crisis Intervention course and have worked with groups who have experienced the effects of being involved or exposed to a critical incident.

“If it is mentionable, it is managable.”
